About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Director to lead our Space Domain Support Office (SDSO). As part of the core leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic vision, stakeholder engagement, and policy-based decision-making to spearhead key business operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Influence the strategic direction across the Space Domain Capability Program.
  • Lead communications and stakeholder management with senior leaders—both internal and external to the Space Capability Branch.
  • Provide expert policy analysis and strategic advice to the leadership team.
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies, corporate governance, quality management systems, and risk management strategies.
  • Develop policies and frameworks to ensure the effective operation of Space Capability Branch business.
  • Drive a positive and team-oriented workplace culture.
About Our Team

Space Capability Branch is responsible for managing and coordinating Defence space capabilities in support of the Integrated Force and national security. We are an integrated workforce, consisting of ADF, APS, and contractors. Our core focus is to centralise and concentrate effort on the management and delivery of Defence space capabilities and outcomes.

Requirements
  • Effective communication skills to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and direction to develop strategies to resolve commercial issues.
  • Knowledge of legislative frameworks, government decision-making processes, and policy requirements.
  • Qualifications in Business Administration, Contracting, Finance, Human Resources, Public Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Positive interpersonal skills to foster and promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • An understanding of capability management processes.
