About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cross Domain Infrastructure Design Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence. As a key member of our Capabilities division, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing cutting-edge Cross Domain solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implementation
    • Contribute to the development of detailed architectural designs for Cross Domain solutions
    • Work with Systems Architects and local Cross Domain SMEs to design and develop infrastructure components
    • Assist in the preparation, management, and execution of technical delivery plans
  • Product Development
    • Represent the engineering function in technical discussions with senior stakeholders
    • Coordinate with the Chief Engineer to ensure regional Cross Domain strategy is reflected in operational planning and delivery
    • Execute Cross Domain plans endorsed by the Chief Architect
    • Represent day-to-day technical liaison with the UK Cross Domain team, ensuring the Australian team is briefed on product updates, roadmaps, incidents, risks, issues, architectures, and solutions
  • Team Collaboration
    • Support continuous improvement through feedback on existing processes and proposing process and template improvements
    • Mentor junior engineers, developing them by providing guidance and support in Cross Domain technologies and estimation activities
    • Provide software support knowledge in conjunction with a CDS Software SME, focusing on Java technologies
  • Support and Maintenance
    • Contribute to the planning and implementation of maintenance and installation work, including building and management of systems and components
    • Take responsibility for agreed support and maintenance procedures at customer sites
    • Provide technical expertise to enable the correct application of operational procedures
    • Ensure the resolution of operational problems and incidents in line with Service Level Agreements
  • Pre-Sales
    • Participate in customer workshops and meetings for identification and/or elaboration of scope and requirements
    • Contribute to proposed designs for Cross Domain solutions addressing customer scope and requirements
    • Contribute estimates for design, build, and testing activities to support project delivery planning and costing
    Requirements
    • PV Australian security clearance is required, or the ability to acquire one
    • Qualifications in Computer Systems Engineering or a similar level of demonstrated infrastructure engineering competence is highly desired
    • Robust understanding of networks, coupled with a strong background in Linux systems administration, ensuring proficiency in configuring, optimizing, troubleshooting, especially in Linux-based environments, and experience in VoIP solutions
