As a key player in shaping the future of energy, AGL Energy is seeking a Strategic Growth Manager to drive market expansion and strategic growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and evaluating merger and acquisition opportunities, supporting due diligence, and aiding in the integration of acquired businesses. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, with the ability to leverage data and metrics to drive informed decisions.

About the Role:

The Customer Acquisition Team focuses on developing, marketing, and selling AGL Energy products tailored to the distinct needs and preferences of customers. The Strategic Growth Manager will collaborate with AGL's Corporate Strategy Team and other resources across Customer Markets to contribute to the strategic roadmap by leveraging data and market insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the identification of M&A opportunities, conduct initial market discussions, and support corporate development targets.
  • Help define strategic and operational requirements to align with aggregator and customer market strategies, including monitoring market trends and best practices to support the strategic roadmap and enhancing aggregation models.
  • Analyse financial and operational aspects of potential M&A targets with cross-functional teams.
  • Prepare business cases and strategic options for senior leaders and compile findings and reports to the executive team during the due diligence process.
  • Assist in the integration of acquired businesses into AGL Energy, ensuring strategic alignment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field, with experience in mergers and acquisitions, market analysis within the energy or related industries.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and metrics to drive informed decisions and an eagerness to stay informed about market trends and continuously improve knowledge and skills.
  • Basic understanding of energy and telecommunications products and services to support customer inquiries and sales processes, as well as knowledge of customer service best practices and a focus on delivering high-quality, efficient, and customer-centric support.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contribute to project success.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
