Job Title:

Field Environmental Scientist

Job Description

This role involves working on various environmental and contaminated land projects in Regional Victoria. You will be responsible for collecting and reporting on environmental and contaminated land data, particularly in groundwater.

The successful candidate will have the skills to work on a range of projects including soil contamination, landfill gas, data quality, planning and facilitating site maintenance and improvement programs.

Additionally, you will be required to undertake field work and environmental data collection activities for both surface & groundwaters, gas monitoring, soil sampling.

Documenting field work for sampling, monitoring, and OH&S with attention to detail and data quality is also essential.

Servicing, calibrating, and maintaining onsite monitoring equipment and associated sensors are key responsibilities of this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Qualifications in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, Hydrography, or other similar fields
  • High level MS Excel user (mandatory)
  • Experience in the use of ESDAT, Hydstra, Campbells, AutoCAD and Arc GIS is desirable
  • Excellent time management and an eagerness to acquire new skills and meet new challenges
  • Field experience with groundwater sampling techniques such as low flow sampling
  • Able to routinely travel and work remotely, away from home for up to a week at a time
  • A First Aid certificate and white / red card would also be looked upon favourably
