Job Title: Environmental Consultant

The role of the Environmental Scientist involves working on various environmental and contaminated land projects in Regional Victoria, including government contracts.

  • Key project areas include:
  • Collecting and reporting on environmental data specifically in groundwater
  • Soil contamination
  • Landfill gas monitoring
  • Data quality assurance
  • Developing and implementing site maintenance programs

This is a hands-on role that requires the ability to collect and report on environmental data, as well as undertaking field work and environmental data collection activities for both surface & groundwaters, gas monitoring, soil sampling.

As an Environmental Consultant, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting field work and collecting environmental data for both surface & groundwaters, gas monitoring, soil sampling
  • Documenting field work with attention to detail and data quality
  • Maintaining onsite monitoring equipment and associated sensors
  • Identifying maintenance needs at respective sites and scheduling works into the work program

We are looking for someone with:

  • Industry experience in groundwater / surface water or contaminated land monitoring would be beneficial
  • Qualifications in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, Hydrography, or similar fields
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (mandatory), with experience in using ESDAT, Hydstra, Campbell Scientific, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS desirable
  • Excellent time management and a willingness to acquire new skills and meet new challenges
  • Field experience with groundwater sampling techniques such as low flow sampling
  • Able to travel and work remotely for extended periods
  • A First Aid certificate and relevant safety training desirable
  • 4WD experience would be advantageous
