Senior Leader

This is a leadership role that requires vision and passion for educational excellence. We are seeking an experienced educator to lead our English faculty in Years 7-12.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the quality of instruction for the faculty, focusing on evidence-based teaching practices and principles of instructional design.
- Ensure assessments are valid, authentic, and appropriately reported, including both summative and formative assessment.
- Lead and manage staff within the faculty, including chairing regular team meetings, conducting classroom visits, overseeing staff administration, managing interpersonal issues, and collaborating with curriculum leaders to address parent concerns and performance issues.
- Ensure curriculum documentation is complete and accurate, based on the Understanding by Design framework.
- Manage physical resources for the faculty, including budgets, classroom equipment, capital forecasts, technology requirements, and providing appropriate resources.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a leader in education, preferably in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of educational theory and practice, particularly in the areas of instructional design, assessment, and staff management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with staff and parents.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on achieving outcomes.
- Capacity to inspire and motivate students, staff, and parents, promoting a culture of excellence and achievement.
