Job Overview

The Senior Advisory Officer Mine Closure is a critical role within our organisation, responsible for facilitating post-mining land use and alternate forms of employment on mine sites in NSW.

  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities and priorities for post-mining land use in mining-dependent regions.
  • Develop clear, practical guidance and pathways within the NSW planning and rehabilitation frameworks.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to resolve barriers and drive outcomes.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, briefing notes, and strategic materials to support organisational priorities.
About the Team

Our team works closely with the NSW Future Jobs and Investment Authority to identify opportunities and priorities for post-mining land use in mining-dependent regions.

Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or experience in planning, mining, geoscience, or environmental management.
  • Experience working with regulatory frameworks such as the NSW planning system or rehabilitation guidelines.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and customer service skills, including the ability to write clear, persuasive reports and briefs in plain English.
  • Ability to analyse complex technical information and translate it into practical advice for diverse stakeholders.
