Grounds Maintenance Specialist

Schools Officer, Grounds is a vital position within our institution that plays a key role in maintaining the upkeep and presentation of school grounds. This involves regular maintenance tasks such as mowing, watering, and soil care for the ovals, lawn and garden maintenance, including weeding and using insecticides and fertilisers when necessary.
This role also entails planting, watering, and caring for trees, shrubs, gardens, as well as undertaking general maintenance of grounds care equipment such as mowers, brush cutters, tractors. Additionally, ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements, maintaining a safe work environment, and attending to or arranging repairs and maintenance within the school premises.
As part of this role, you will also be responsible for ordering and/or collecting general grounds care/cleaning supplies and materials as authorised by the Principal, Business Manager, or nominated delegate. Furthermore, preparing, marking, and taking general care of all outdoor sporting facilities is a critical aspect of this position.
