We are seeking a seasoned leader to spearhead our events and exhibition design initiatives. As a key figure in our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional 3D design solutions and mentoring junior designers.
Your primary responsibilities include challenging briefs, developing cutting-edge conceptual solutions, and creating comprehensive technical packs with high-quality renders and visuals to effectively communicate your designs.
You will oversee material and cost engineering, source finishes, prepare detailed drawings, and conduct site surveys to ensure seamless project execution.
In addition, you will manage on-site execution, collaborate with contractors, mentor junior designers, and build relationships with clients, all while staying current with industry developments.
Key Responsibilities:- Navigate cross-studio remote workflows, soliciting feedback, approvals, and guidance from stakeholders.
- Promote and support creative excellence within available resources.
- Drive and deliver innovative creative responses for new business pitches without overcapitalizing resources.
- Receive and interpret briefs, developing design solutions to address key business challenges.
- Determine the level of detail for creative responses, from conceptual sketches to high-quality renders.
- Prepare detailed working drawing packages, including plans, elevations, details, FF&E schedules, and drawing schedules.
- Conduct site surveys and create site-specific documentation.
- Oversee projects on-site and at prototype stages to ensure design intent is met.
- Develop high-end, cutting-edge conceptual ideas and solutions.
- Curate 'sample' or 'mood' boards to communicate design intent, considering materials and costs according to set parameters.
- Approve graphics, materials, fittings, furniture, lighting, finishes, decoration, and dressing from the wider team.
- Provide design leadership to the 3D team, adapting well to a dynamic environment.
- Work independently, requiring minimal input from senior leaders.
- Support account management, production management, and other internal or external teams as needed.
- Collaborate with contractors, such as Technical Directors, Structural Engineers, and Lighting Designers.
- Contribute to the overall spirit of innovation, encouraging entrepreneurial ideas and creativity.
- Stay up-to-date with new developments in the design industry.
