Exhibition Manager

The Curator is responsible for overseeing the Hume Gallery exhibition program and day-to-day operations of galleries across the municipality, driving audience engagement and increasing visitation through delivery of public programs and events.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop, deliver, and evaluate annual exhibitions and public programs to drive audience engagement and support Council Plan goals.
- Oversee the Expression of Interest process for applications to exhibit.
- Design and distribute promotional materials and opportunities in support of the Gallery's program.
- Foster strong partnerships with key stakeholders including community members, artists, arts organisations, community and business organisations, government agencies, and schools.
- Represent the Council within arts and cultural networks as required.
Key Requirements:
- A degree or diploma in a relevant field with relevant experience; or lesser formal qualifications with substantial relevant experience in the visual arts or cultural sector.
- Expertise in museum and curatorial practices and principles.
- A proven ability to conduct original research supporting innovative exhibitions and programs.
- Able to work effectively with communities to support capacity building, social connection, and expression through arts and cultural programming.
