Volunteer Strategy & Development Manager

The Salvation Army is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our People Leadership Team as the Volunteer Strategy & Development Manager. This pivotal role is dedicated to the growth, development, and retention of our volunteer workforce, ensuring they are central to our mission and commercial success.

This role will lead, co-design and implement our Volunteer Strategy, to deliver growth and an exceptional volunteer experience. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to align volunteering initiatives with our overall strategy.
  • Driving volunteer attraction, development, recognition, and retention initiatives.
  • Fostering an inclusive culture where volunteers feel valued and their voices are heard.
  • Researching and developing volunteer workforce plans to meet current and future needs.
  • Enhancing volunteer communications and developing new partnerships to expand our volunteer base.
  • Contributing to the design and delivery of a suite of leadership development programs for The Salvation Army.
