Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the position of Employment Mentor.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for working across the full employment lifecycle, identifying participant goals and barriers, facilitating job-readiness training, supporting employers in creating the right environment for success, and providing regular post-placement follow-up.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Deliver one-on-one and group training to build job readiness.
  • Support participants to overcome practical barriers such as transport, documentation and confidence.
  • Build and maintain relationships with referral partners and support services.
  • Actively identify and engage with employers across a variety of industries.
  • Evaluate alignment between employer needs and participant capacity, and provide support throughout the placement.
  • Provide post-placement mentoring, regular check-ins and issue resolution.
  • Monitor outcomes and contribute to reporting and ongoing program development.
Your Qualifications:

You must have a strong understanding of the importance of being reliable, organised and outcome-oriented, and know how to adapt to the needs of people and situations around you. You may come from a background in community services, employment support, training, social enterprise or similar.

Experience in apprenticeship coordination, youth engagement or employment pathways would be an advantage, but not essential. Relevant skills and knowledge developed in other settings can also be considered.

You should be able to demonstrate resilience, initiative and excellent communication skills. It is essential that you can work independently and as part of a team, using your problem-solving abilities to navigate complex issues.
