Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Traffic Controller to coordinate and direct traffic flow in various settings. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to utilize their skills in traffic management and work outdoors in a dynamic environment.

As a Traffic Controller, you will be responsible for setting up and managing traffic control operations, directing pedestrians and vehicles to maintain safety around roadworks, accidents, and events, communicating with road traffic team members, emergency services, and construction workers via two-way radio, operating road signs and using hand signals to direct traffic, explaining operations and answering driver and pedestrian questions, working outdoors in all weather conditions, working varying shifts, including days, nights, and weekends, and ability to work on different sites, including construction, maintenance, event management, and emergency works.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Setting up and managing traffic control operations
  • Directing pedestrians and vehicles to maintain safety around roadworks, accidents, and events
  • Communicating with road traffic team members, emergency services, and construction workers via two-way radio
  • Operating road signs and using hand signals to direct traffic
  • Explaining operations and answering driver and pedestrian questions
  • Working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Working varying shifts, including days, nights, and weekends

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Accredited qualifications in Traffic Control (Control Traffic with Stop-Slow Bat & Implement Traffic Management Plan) and Construction Industry (White Card)
