We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented professional to join our team of Traffic Controllers.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to make quick decisions, and a strong commitment to public safety.

This role requires operating road signs, directing traffic flow at designated locations, implementing and enforcing traffic control plans, and collaborating with law enforcement personnel as needed.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local regulations and safety guidelines, monitoring traffic conditions, and adjusting control measures as necessary to optimise traffic flow and minimise congestion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating road signs, such as Stop/Slow bats, and using hand signals to direct the flow of traffic and pedestrians.
  • Completing site checks and monitoring traffic behaviour and/or flow to ensure safety is always maintained.
  • Directing and controlling traffic flow at designated locations, including intersections, construction sites, and events.
  • Implementing and enforcing traffic control plans, ensuring compliance with local regulations and safety guidelines.
  • Communicating effectively with drivers, pedestrians, and co-workers to provide clear instructions and maintain a safe environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license
  • RIISS00058 - Traffic Controller - Urban Streets and Low Volume Rural Roads (TC1)
  • RIISS00060 - Traffic Management Implementer - Urban Streets and Low Volume Rural Roads (TMI1)
  • Strong knowledge of traffic control regulations, safety guidelines, and relevant equipment
  • Excellent physical stamina to stand for extended periods and work in various weather conditions
