Senior School Psychologist Recruitment Pool

We are creating a pool of qualified and enthusiastic candidates to fill temporary lead school psychologist roles within public educational institutions across Western Australia. This pool may be utilized for positions lasting up to twelve months.
If you are a current fixed-term or permanent school psychologist or lead school psychologist seeking your next role, or if you are a recently retired lead school psychologist, we encourage you to consider this opportunity. Additionally, if you have recently relocated to Western Australia and possess experience in school psychology leadership, we welcome your application.
This recruitment pool remains open, allowing applications to be submitted throughout its duration.
As a lead school psychologist, you will operate within a school setting and report directly to the region's Director of Education. You will also maintain professional accountability to the Chief Psychologist of the Department. Your practice will be informed by departmental policies and guidelines, as well as the professional standards set by the Psychology Board of Australia. Lead school psychologists are also affiliated with Statewide Services.
Your role will involve providing leadership and facilitating professional support and development for all school psychologists. This includes ensuring professional supervision for provisionally registered psychologists and maintaining the quality of practice in accordance with the professional standards of the Department and the Psychology Board of Australia. As a lead school psychologist, you will offer direct guidance to the Director of Education and school principals in addressing complex issues and situations, including incident management. You will also lead the creation and execution of suitable programs, interventions, and evaluations at all levels, facilitating systemic change and critically assessing issues affecting the School Psychology Service.

Pool Appointments
Directors of Education may select candidates from this pool to fill temporary lead school psychologist positions for up to twelve months. Consideration will be given to qualifications, experience, and availability when selecting candidates for potential placement.
You may be contacted by a Director of Education to discuss potential placements or future opportunities. Your referees may be reached out to for verification of your experience.
If you are a permanent employee with the Department, your current line manager must approve your release before you can accept a temporary position in another region.

As placements from this pool will require immediate commencement, you may only apply if you are currently residing in Australia.

Applicants must submit a detailed resume, including the names of two professional referees. If you are currently employed, one of these referees should ideally be your current line manager.
