Role Overview

Possability is a leading Australian non-profit, values-based organisation delivering individual and flexible support options for people with a disability. We are seeking a Disability Support Specialist to join our team in Bendigo, Victoria.

About the Role

This is an opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives as a Disability Support Specialist providing high quality support and care that addresses individual needs and enhances independence, abilities, community participation and quality of life in support of the participant's individual goals and aspirations.

The role of a Disability Support Specialist varies day-to-day, and will be a mix of working with participants to engage in social and recreational activities, participate in daily personal care and household activities, maintaining participant health and wellbeing, and following individual care plans to support the participants in enhancing their independence and achieving their individual goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide participants with high quality support and care that addresses individual needs and enhances independence, abilities, community participation and quality of life in support of the participant's individual goals and aspirations.
  • Effectively implement individual support plans to maximise participant outcomes and attainment of goals.
  • Maintain participant health and wellbeing by engaging in daily personal care and household activities.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to provide comprehensive support services.

Requirements

  • Unrestricted drivers licence in the state in which you wish to work.
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.
  • Current first aid and medication certificates; or a willingness to obtain.
