Job Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced leader to head our legal department.

About the Role:
  • The Director, Legal will provide strategic and client-centric legal services to decision makers, executives, and employees of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of lawyers to deliver complex legal advice and litigation services on matters affecting agency operations
  • Oversee the development of procedures and systems to enhance the efficiency of the in-house legal practice
  • Manage the instruction and engagement of external legal providers
  • Liaise with senior stakeholders to ensure compliance with service level standards
Requirements:
  • Admission as a practitioner of the High Court or Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory
  • Substantial legal experience at a senior practitioner level
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate legal advice clearly to various audiences
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively and collegiately across teams
  • Ability to lead a team and manage complex legal issues
