Relay Engineer

This role focuses on protection relays and systems across Australia. The key responsibilities include being a technical authority on Schneider Electric's protection relay portfolio in Australia, partnering with sales, presales, and channel teams to deliver best-in-class solutions to customers, providing technical support, design consultation, and compliance guidance for pre-sales and tender opportunities, leading technical training sessions, workshops, and product demonstrations for internal teams and external stakeholders, interpreting single-line diagrams, coordinating protection studies, and developing optimized relay settings, supporting solution proposals with accurate, well-documented technical material, staying current with local and international standards (IEC, ANSI), and contributing to market strategy.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5-8 years' experience in protection systems, preferably in the Australian market
  • Strong knowledge of IEC, ANSI, and Australian protection standards
  • Practical experience with Schneider Electric protection relays or equivalent platforms
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and system design layouts
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience
  • Ability to align technical solutions with customer needs, support value-based selling, and contribute to commercial success
