Job Overview

The Senior Facilities Officer plays a key role in coordinating and supporting maintenance, repair, and minor works across MFS assets and infrastructure.

This position ensures the smooth delivery of facilities management services, contributes to the continuous improvement of administrative systems, and maintains compliance with government policies and standards.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and support maintenance, repair, and minor works across MFS assets and infrastructure.
  • Ensure smooth delivery of facilities management services under general direction.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of administrative systems and maintain compliance with government policies and standards.
  • Liaise with staff, senior management, service providers, and contractors to keep assets operational, safe, and fit for purpose, including during emergency events.
  • Manage preventative and breakdown maintenance schedules and coordinate contractors and schedules.
  • Support asset security systems and deliver minor projects.
  • Promote energy efficiency and maintain detailed administrative records.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering facilities management services across multi-site, complex property portfolios.
  • Proven ability to manage both planned and unplanned maintenance programs, including asset registers, condition audits, and compliance documentation.
  • Strong skills in using Microsoft Office, asset management systems, building management systems (BMS), access control, and security systems.
  • Experience in project management, particularly with minor works and refurbishment projects.
  • Skilled in overseeing contractor performance across a range of service contracts.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritise multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills to achieve quality, cost-effective outcomes.
  • Analytical aptitude for interpreting financial data, performance metrics, and building plans to inform decision-making.
  • Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, principles, and risk management practices.
  • Commitment to fostering positive stakeholder relationships and delivering high-quality service.
