Job Description

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of an esteemed basketball organization.

This position offers a unique blend of traditional accounting excellence and the challenges of working in professional sports.

  • Prepare detailed cash flow statements and control expenditure.
  • Manage year-end accounts, statutory accounts, and compliance responsibilities (BAS Statements, Tax Returns, FBT submissions).
  • Conduct multi-year forecasting to support business strategy.
  • Analyze financial data to assess the Club's financial health and identify revenue optimization opportunities.

Financial Management

  • Reconcile income reports and manage accounts receivable processes.
  • Oversee accounts payable and supplier payment systems.
  • Manage employee payment processes, reimbursements, and deductions.
  • Prepare monthly and annual P&L and balance sheet reports.

Strategic Financial Support

  • Provide financial insights and advice to senior leaders.
  • Support board reporting and other company financial communications.
  • Identify areas for financial process improvement and efficiency gains.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or CA qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting roles.
  • Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and tax compliance.
