Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Deployment Manager to join our team at Hydrogen Group. As a key member of our deployment team, you will be responsible for planning and executing large-scale deployments nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage comprehensive deployment plans, ensuring all stakeholders are engaged and briefed accurately.
  • Support deployment approaches for SaaS application architectures and deployments, with contingency plans and deployment playbooks in place.
  • Prepare specialized deployment processes to support disaster recovery and business continuity scenarios.
  • Identify root causes for deployment-related downtime and participate in after-action reviews for production deployment activities.
  • Ensure stakeholders' expectations around project scope, timelines, key metrics, and outcomes are effectively managed and reported.
  • Escalate project risks and strategies to address slippages.
  • Ensure prudent commercial procurement decisions are made in relation to the selection of delivery partners and negotiate statements of work.
  • Obtain value for money from vendor contracts, achieve synergies, and establish a strong alliance relationship.
  • Work to ensure vendors engaged on projects meet critical elements of their commercial agreements and statements of work.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and professional development of the deployment team, ensuring skills and knowledge are aligned to project requirements.

Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of experience in leading deployments at scale in Retail businesses.
  • Experience in managing deployments to sites distributed across Australia, including regional areas.
  • Sound general IT experience, including systemic knowledge of IT development, operational, and change management processes and methodologies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong vendor management skills and ability to hold them to account for delivery.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to think on the feet to solve problems arising in the ground during deployment and/or guide vendors.
  • Demonstrated capacity for translating thought into action and being fully accountable for results.
  • Proactive nature to ensure constant awareness and knowledge of changes in operation throughout the business.
  • Takes pride in achieving success and creation of value for the business.
  • Diplomatic, able to work across both Business and IT teams.
  • Well-developed organisational skills and the capacity to be flexible in balancing priorities to meet/exceed customer needs.
  • Excellent networking and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to engage stakeholders and influence change, and to converse with both end-users and IT employees at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to construct arguments, to challenge positively and constructively, and to distinguish requests from underlying needs.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills, with the ability to collect and analyse complex material and data, and present in accessible form.
  • Energetic self-starter, able to quickly establish relationships with other project members and SMEs.

  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes and their application.
