Supporting Independence and Wellbeing

At Get Going Support, we are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Disability Support Workers. This role provides an opportunity to make a genuine impact in the lives of our clients, providing dignified support care that enables them to live independently and achieve their goals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting clients with daily activities, personal care, and social support, while also promoting their independence and autonomy. Our team values diversity and recognizes the importance of individual contributions, fostering a strong team culture and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with daily activities, including showering, dressing, and performing daily tasks
  • Provide personal care and social support to clients with disabilities and mental health issues
  • Assist clients with physical and psycho-social disabilities to remain independent in their own homes
  • Support clients to appointments in the community
  • Provide therapy assistance to support the implementation of physical, speech, OT, and psychological plans and strategies (as directed by allied health teams)
  • Support clients to develop and build self-confidence
  • Review and update care support plans

Requirements:

  • Current QLD Driver's License
  • Current First Aid Certificate and CPR
  • Current Yellow Card
  • Compulsory Third Party insurance on private vehicle
  • NDIS Orientation Certificate or ability to obtain
  • COVID-19 Certificate and current vaccination
  • Manual Handling

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support Disability/Aged Care or related studies
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NDIS system
  • Sound experience in the disability or allied health/welfare/education fields
  • A minimum of one year's driving experience and a full driving license

About Get Going Support:

We operate in South-East Queensland, specializing in personalized, stable SIL supports within SDA homes, offering specialized disability care for clients of all ages. We work with clients' medical specialists, general practitioners, palliative care teams, family, and significant others to provide peace of mind and confidence. Our staff are employed by us and selected with an emphasis on compassion, experience, and efficiency in their work to provide quality care services to our clients in the setting of their choice.
