API Design Lead

A highly influential API design leader is required to drive innovation and excellence in our organization. This strategic role involves defining and maintaining API design principles, leading engineering squads, and designing APIs from high-level interface definition to low-level implementation.

  • This senior position will oversee the development of reusable components, shared libraries, and standardized templates to streamline API development across squads.
  • The ideal candidate will have expertise in OpenAPI/Swagger specifications for clear documentation and discoverability.
About the Role

This key position plays a crucial role in driving technical alignment through joint design sessions, architecture forums, and sprint planning discussions.

A successful candidate will be able to lead multiple engineering squads, establish and enforce API design standards, and review API designs and implementations.

  • Mentor engineers on effective API design, SOLID principles, and emerging patterns such as API Gateway, BFF, and event-driven interactions.
