The ProjectWe are currently seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to deliver the best possible financial outcome on the Alliance for the Cross River Rail Projects. The Alliance will deliver two major packages: the Tunnel, Stations and Development (TSD) package and the Rail, Integration and Systems (RIS) package.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage the commercial team (Procurement, Contract Administration and Finance)
- Prepare tender packages, Requests for Quotation, tender evaluations and Recommendations for Approval
- Negotiate and prepare contracts for award
- Evaluate variation claims and issue assessments for review and approval by management
- Prepare month end financial reports
- Manage project Alliance Agreement contract compliance, notices, adjustment events, progress claims
- Manage subcontractor payment claims
- Prepare and issue contract correspondence to Contractors
- Conduct risk and opportunity assessments for project wide management reporting
- Manage earned value analysis of various work packages
- Implement effective cost control processes and practices
- Manage contract disputes
- Manage compliance and prepare reports on commercial performance of the project
- Experience in team management and working within a large on-site construction team
- At least 15 years relevant industry experience
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Experience in the procurement and management of subcontract packages for large-scale projects
- Experience in cost planning and forecast planning
- Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Effective contract negotiation skills and ability to assess and resolve large complex claims and variations through to completion
- Understanding of relevant legislation and ability to interpret and apply contracts
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or proven commercial experience
- Demonstrated experience in effectively managing large subcontract packages
