Expert Breastfeeding Support Role

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to provide expert breastfeeding support to women and their babies who need help feeding. Your key responsibility will be to develop tailored feeding plans antenatally with mothers and follow through with these plans postnatally up to 10 weeks after birth.

  • Develop feeding plans with mothers and ensure timely implementation of these plans postnatally.
  • Be available for women with complex feeding issues, providing empathetic support and guidance.
  • Collaborate with speech pathologists and paediatric registered nurses to assist mothers beyond the initial 10-week period.
  • Conduct breastfeeding classes for expectant mothers in the local area, promoting knowledge and confidence.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • You must be a Registered Midwife with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA.
  • Hold at least 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience in midwifery or a related field.
  • Possess approved post-registration nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to your field of appointment.
