Recreation Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team in Sydney, Nova Scotia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive therapeutic recreation program plan that caters to the physical, social, cultural, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs of residents.

The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree in Therapeutic Recreation with certification in the field of Therapeutic Recreation. They must also possess a minimum of one-year combined experience in the delivery of recreation in healthcare, as well as certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist through the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification.

In collaboration with the Behavioural Support Team, the Recreation Therapist will develop behavioural support plans for residents with complex behavioural concerns. They will also participate in ongoing evaluation of all therapeutic recreation interventions and collaborate with external care providers.
