Indigenous Healthcare Specialist

This role involves providing culturally appropriate and holistic healthcare services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients. As an Aboriginal Health Worker/Practitioner, you will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised care plans.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess, diagnose, treat and manage clients' healthcare needs.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised care plans.
- Conduct health checks, screenings and immunisations.
- Deliver health education and promotion programs to the community.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
- Advocate for the healthcare needs of the Indigenous community.
- Participate in continuous professional development activities.
- Formal qualification as an Aboriginal Health Worker or Aboriginal Health Practitioner or working towards.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role within the healthcare or community services sector.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
- Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, health beliefs and practices.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, culturally safe and client-centred healthcare.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel within the local area.
