Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and dynamic Program and Partnerships Coordinator to join our team on a part-time basis (2 to 3 days per week). This role is ideal for someone passionate about cultural exchange, relationship-building, and providing exceptional support to our participants and partners.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Program Coordination: Supporting the coordination of exchange programs alongside our existing Program Coordinator in Australia to ensure smooth operations.
  2. Partnership Development: Managing and developing relationships with our partners, including schools, Alliance Française, and other French organizations in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
  • Program Coordination and Participant Support:
    • Support the planning, coordination, and administration of student exchange programs alongside our existing Program Coordinator, including liaising with families, schools, and students to ensure all logistics are managed efficiently.
    • Manage program documentation, keep databases updated, and handle general administrative tasks related to program coordination.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for participants, providing clear communication, guidance, and troubleshooting support throughout the exchange process.
  • Partnership Maintenance and Development:
    • Develop and maintain relationships with AFX local representatives, AFX ambassadors, schools, Alliance Française, and other key French organizations in Australia to expand the reach of AFX programs.
  • Event Management:
    • Coordinate orientation sessions, information nights, and other events designed to engage and support students, families, and partners.
Requirements

Skills & Experience Required

  • Experience in Coordination within the Australian French Community: Previous experience in a program coordinator or administrative role is highly desirable, particularly within education, travel, or not-for-profit sectors.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to engage effectively with students, families, and partners.
  • Organizational Abilities: Highly organized, with great attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Language Skills: Candidates should be fluent in French and English. Previous student exchange experience is a bonus.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: A genuine interest in cultural exchange and a demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds. Experience with the French community in Melbourne is a significant bonus.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using digital tools and platforms for communication, data management, and program organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with organizing cultural or educational events.
  • Background in partnership development or community outreach.
  • Experience working with students or youth programs.
