Job Opportunity:
Senior Claims ManagerAvant Mutual is a leading medical defence organisation with a proud heritage of protecting Australian medical professionals for over 130 years.
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Claims Manager to join our Adelaide team for a full-time, permanent role. The successful candidate will report directly to the Claims Team Manager.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Managing member claims and investigations;
- Providing guidance and advice in the indemnification of claims;
- Proactively formulating a claims management strategy for the member;
- Partnering with solicitors in the support of our members' claims as required;
- Contributing to Avant's provision of claims services; and
- Participating in the resourcing of the medico-legal advice hotline.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications in law or health;
- A valid practising certificate (solicitors);
- Previous demonstrated experience in insurance claims management;
- A strong understanding of current health and insurance legislation;
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills;
- Proven ability to work in an electronic document management system; and
- Strong relationship building and negotiation skills.
