Electrical Asset Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at Hydro Tasmania. As an Electrical Asset Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the design and replacement of hydropower assets that have been operating for over 100 years.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-level engineering and technical input into electrical asset specifications, documents, and standards.
- Review and make recommendations towards the final engineering sign-off of key engineering documents.
- Provide technical options and solutions to asset issues that contribute to the safe and timely commissioning of assets for availability.
- Provide engineering or technical advice for projects and to resolve technical issues.
- Work closely with a range of stakeholders, including the Commercial team.

About YouA highly skilled professional with extensive experience in the design, construction, or management of large industrial equipment, you will bring your vast knowledge of electrical equipment relating to hydro power generation, including HV switchgear, transformers, and alternators.
You have operated in a senior capacity, with the ability to ensure technical projects meet standards and manage risks. This expertise allows you to offer well-considered recommendations and engineering sign-off on various documents, including technical reports, detailed design drawings, engineering standards, and project proposals.
Requirements- A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Extensive experience in the design, construction, or management of large industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical equipment relating to hydro power generation, including HV switchgear, transformers, and alternators.
- Experience working in a senior capacity, with the ability to ensure technical projects meet standards and manage risks.
The successful candidate will receive a salary of $135,459 – $157,027 plus superannuation, plus a range of employee perks, including generous parental leave, electricity discounts, and access to vehicles for seamless travel between our sites.
