A leading global company is seeking a highly skilled Principal Road Designer to join its Queensland civil infrastructure business unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver the Road Design component within agreed deadlines and budgets.
  • IDentify and resolve technical road design issues with the team.
  • Lead a road design project team, including coaching and development of capabilities.
  • Determine resources required for a project plan, including elements suitable for outsourcing.
  • Produce accurate, clear, and concise project documents compliant with best practice and quality standards.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with Project Managers/Team Leaders and clients on matters relevant to the project.
  • Comply with national design standards.
  • Collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure overall design integrity.
Requirements
  • Suitable degree or qualification in Civil Engineering.
  • Proficiency in 12D essential.
  • Proficiency in Bentley MicroStation and OpenRoads highly desirable.
  • Significant years of experience in a project delivery environment with demonstrated participation in major road infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of Austroads Guide to Road Design essential, knowledge and experience in applying other state-based standards desirable.
  • Knowledge of local authority CADD standards and deliverables.
Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of road design principles and practices. They will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
