Welfare and Engagement Officer

The role of a Welfare and Engagement Officer involves delivering high-quality support services to detainees. This includes providing opportunities for personal growth, skill development, and mental wellbeing.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing engaging programs and activities that cater to the diverse needs of detainees. This may include developing educational and recreational initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

About the Role:
  • Develop, plan, and deliver structured programs and activities that promote mental health and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design and implement effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and conduct programs and activities for adults or families.
  • Work effectively with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • Plan, manage, and respectfully deliver programs that take into consideration special interests, skills, and needs.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in an associated discipline such as social/community work and/or learning and development.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in managing and conducting structured programs and activities.
  • Flexibility to work on a 7-day roster and adapt to changing circumstances.
