Community Care Specialist

We are seeking a Community Care Specialist to join our Home and Community Care team in the Northam area of Western Australia on a casual basis.

Our team provides community-based care programs that assist our aged customers to continue to live independently in their own homes. You will be working in a supportive environment that encourages initiative and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal care, including showering, dressing, continence care
  • Assist customers with administration of correct medication
  • Assist customers with domestic duties, meal preparation and other household tasks to ensure safe and hygienic living conditions in their own homes
  • Social Support, including transport to shops or appointments
  • Adherence to Client Care Plan

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Current Australian driver's license and reliable car - essential
- Certificate III Aged Care - desirable
- Current First Aid certification - desirable
- Previous experience working in the Community - desirable
- Understand documentation and relevant aged care legislation
- Understand principles of Occupational, Safety & Health and correct manual handling
- Verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, clients, families and service providers in a manner which is effective and consistent
