About Cyber Security Roles

Cyber security roles are responsible for protecting an organisation's computer systems, networks and data from cyber threats. These threats can come in the form of malicious software, unauthorised access to systems, or other forms of cyber attacks.

As a Cyber Incident Response Analyst, you will play a key role in responding to and managing cyber incidents that affect the Victorian Government. You will be responsible for investigating and remediating incidents, providing advice and guidance on containment and eradication, and supporting senior practitioners with incident response activities.

This is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will work closely with government and private industry stakeholders to achieve timely and effective responses to cyber security incidents. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of team plans, policies and procedures relating to cyber threat intelligence and incident response functions.

The successful applicant will have a demonstrated understanding of ICT networks, cyber threats and exposure to technical investigations into cyber security incidents. They will also have oral and written ability to translate technical concepts into plain English and be able to develop and maintain productive working relationships with team members and stakeholders at all levels of government and private industry.

Key accountabilities include assisting the technical response and investigation into cyber security incidents, supporting whole-of-government coordination functions, assisting with the development of advice to stakeholders on effective risk mitigation and incident response strategies, and contributing to the continuous improvement of team plans, policies and procedures.
