Senior Database Architect

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Database Architect with strong hands-on experience in PostgreSQL to take on a key role in our organization.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing PostgreSQL databases across development, testing, and production environments to ensure data consistency and availability.
- Design and implement scalable PostgreSQL database architectures.
- Collaborate with developers and DevOps teams to design and implement database solutions.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
- Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
- Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL in production environments.
- Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
- Experience with database monitoring and performance tuning tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS RDS or Azure Database for PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of other RDBMS (e.g. MySQL, SQL Server).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Additional Requirements:
This role requires Australian Citizenship. Candidates must either hold an active security clearance or be eligible to obtain one, as the role involves working with sensitive information.
On-call and Shift Work:
- Work in shifts to provide ongoing support.
- Be on call for urgent issues.
Flexibility and reliability are important to ensure smooth service delivery and client satisfaction.
