Safety Focused Train Operations Role

This role involves providing customer service and ensuring the safety of passengers on trains. To succeed in this position, you will need to have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and be physically fit.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist passengers with boarding and alighting from trains
  • Maintain a safe environment on trains by monitoring passenger behavior and reporting any incidents
  • Communicate with passengers through public announcements and respond to their queries
  • Participate in a paid, six-month intensive training program to develop the skills and capabilities needed to become a qualified Train Guard
Requirements:
  • A commitment to a long-term career as a Train Guard and a demanding training program
  • The ability to work varying shift start and finish times within a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week timetable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects
  • Previous experience working in a safety-focused workplace is highly desirable
