About the RoleThis position involves supervising dialysis care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations. The successful candidate will work closely with hemodialysis teams, oversee dialysis technicians, and provide direct patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, families, staff, and physicians, ensuring a seamless experience throughout their healthcare journey.
- Educate patients on renal disease, vascular access, dialysis therapy, and related health conditions, empowering them to make informed decisions about their care.
- Delegate tasks to dialysis technicians effectively, guaranteeing safe and efficient dialysis therapy while promoting a culture of accountability and teamwork.
- Supervise dialysis technicians, ensuring they adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and document hemodialysis care, assessments, and patient responses accurately, providing valuable insights for treatment optimization.
- Adjust treatment plans based on patient response, demonstrating a commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement.
- Ensure proper collection and packaging of lab specimens per Department of Transportation (DOT) policies, upholding the highest standards of safety and compliance.
- Communicate and collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care, leveraging expertise and resources to deliver exceptional outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records, facilitating seamless data exchange and informed decision-making.
- Review lab results and report critical data to physicians, enabling timely interventions and optimized patient care.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program, possessing the skills and knowledge required to excel in this role.
- Current RN license in Australia, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- At least one year of nursing experience, including dialysis experience, which has honed your clinical expertise and ability to adapt to dynamic situations.
- CPR certification, reflecting your dedication to delivering high-quality patient care and responding promptly to emergencies.
This role requires walking, standing, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds, as well as close attention to visual, auditory, and mental tasks. The work environment is typical of healthcare facilities, where you may be exposed to infectious materials.
