About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Transaction Architect to join our Global Transaction Architecture team at Red Hat. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing complex transactions and risk mitigation models, facilitating contract and business model development, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive strategic value propositions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transaction Management: Manage complex transactional and risk mitigation models alongside Finance, Sales Operations, and BU Finance teams.
  • Contract and Business Model Development: Facilitate and deliver contract and business model solutions to strategic Enterprise Sales teams in collaboration with Finance and Product & Global Engineering.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Direct high-level individual contributors and cross-functional teams, projects, and matrices.
  • Strategic Value Propositions: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to formulate and advise on required strategic value propositions, pricing constructs, offering programs, and contracts to align with Red Hat's corporate goals and product line requirements.
  • Business Model Implementation: Work with subject matter experts, product line owners, and the Sales and Operations teams to define requirements for effective business model implementation.
  • Contract Review: Review customer contractual documents, including subscription services obligation terms and conditions, and spot contractual red flags and exposures.
Requirements
  • Deal Management Experience: 10+ years of deal management, complex transaction negotiation, product pricing, and/or transactional financial modeling experience.
  • Industry Expertise: Extensive experience in enterprise software or service provider industry.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related area; master's degree preferred.
  • Communication and Negotiation Skills: Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Financial Modeling: Experience in designing and interpreting complex financial models.
  • Open Source Technology: Knowledge of open source technology, enterprise and cloud infrastructures, middleware, storage and systems management, support and content delivery, and entitlement models.
  • Pricing and Discount Frameworks: Understanding of pricing and discount frameworks, consumption vs. capacity, and IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS business models.
  • Business Management: Familiarity with business management areas critical to customers and Red Hat including financial metrics, purchase orders, revenue recognition rules, and regulations and licensing constructs.
  • Track Record of Success: Track record of success in a fast-paced technical environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Experience in Influence-Driven Environment: Experience working in an influence-driven, cross-functional environment.
  • Travel: Willingness and availability to travel, including to customers on a per need basis.
