We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven leader to join our team at Amazon as a Principal, Energy Strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive carbon-free energy strategy for our data centers across the APJC region.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive carbon-free energy and utilities strategy for our data centers.
- Lead investment activities with a strong focus on renewable transactions from early stage development through commercial operations.
- Lead market analysis, transaction origination, (co-)development, structuring, business and financial diligence.
- Work closely with external technical resources for the development, construction and operating phase.
- At least 10+ years of experience working in the energy/infrastructure/finance industry.
- A proven experience in structured energy transactions and complex contract negotiations.
- Deep understanding of the links between PPAs, investment models and project finance documentation.
- Deep experience in APJC power markets.
- Strong written and communication skills.
- 15+ years of relevant experience in energy markets, energy trading, power contract negotiations, energy regulations, renewable development, or energy generation technologies.
- Existing active network to developers, IPPs, utilities, funds, financiers, governments and/or multilaterals in the APJC region.
- Have a demonstrated experience in structured energy transactions and contract negotiations, a deep understanding of the links between PPAs, investment models and project finance documentation, direct agreements, bank and corporate guarantees and inter creditor agreements.
- Excellent speaking-listening-writing skills and attention to details.
