Job Title: Diocesan Safeguarding Trainer and Training Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced Safeguarding Trainer to join our team as a Diocesan Safeguarding Trainer and Training Coordinator. This is a part-time, job-share position that will support the mission and ministry of the Church of England in Suffolk by coordinating and delivering programs of safeguarding training.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver Safeguarding Training: Provide high-quality safeguarding training to various groups across the diocese, ensuring that training meets the requirements of the National Safeguarding Learning and Development Policy.
  2. Collaborate with National Safeguarding Team: Work closely with the National Church of England Safeguarding Team's Training and Development Manager to ensure that training in the diocese aligns with national standards.
  3. Develop and Implement Training Programs: Design and implement training programs that meet the needs of the diocese, including accessible training opportunities throughout the diocese and within deaneries.
  4. Recruit and Develop Trainers: Recruit, train, develop, support, and quality assure a team of Diocesan Approved Volunteer Safeguarding Trainers, ensuring they are equipped to deliver high-quality training.
  5. Quality Assurance: Oversee the system and processes for capturing accurate feedback from course attendees and measuring the quality of the training, addressing any weaknesses or areas for improvement.
  6. Reporting and Communication: Provide information and reports to the Diocesan Safeguarding Officer and Diocesan Safeguarding Advisory Panel as required, supporting the need to safeguard vulnerable groups throughout the diocese.

This role will require occasional evening and Saturday working to effectively achieve the purposes of the role. The post holder may be required to carry out other duties as directed by the Diocesan Safeguarding Officer or Diocesan Secretary as part of working collaboratively within a small multi-disciplinary professional team.
