Job Title: Education and Inclusion Specialist

Job Description

The Department of Education is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Education and Inclusion Specialist. This role will play a vital part in ensuring that students with additional needs receive the support they require to achieve their educational goals.

In this position, you will work under the direction of classroom teachers to ensure students with additional needs are effectively supported. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Modeling, mentoring, and coaching colleagues in the delivery of planned education programs.
  • Employing best practice strategies and providing constructive feedback to foster a collaborative and relational team culture.

Key skills and qualifications for this role include:

  • A strong commitment to inclusive education and the ability to build positive, professional relationships with staff, students, and families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of effective strategies for supporting students with additional needs and be able to adapt their approach to meet the diverse needs of our students.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before starting.
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before starting.
