Lead Renewable Energy Project Specialist

We are seeking a Lead Renewable Energy Project Specialist to lead or be a member of a 3-4 person team focused on Australia's National Electricity Market with a commercial advisory background. The role involves providing expert advice on project commercialisation to renewables and storage developers, including optimal spot and contracted mix, pros and cons of alternative offtake structures, and interaction between offtake, project configuration, and project debt financing.

Job Description

Our ideal candidate will have 4-6 years' relevant experience in Australia's NEM, working with and for renewable and BESS project developers on project commercialisation, along with strong project delivery and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice on project commercialisation to renewables and storage developers.
  • Run competitive processes to buy or sell offtake linked to renewables and/or storage projects.
  • Provide power sector expertise into other projects and teams as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • 4-6 years' relevant experience in Australia's NEM, working with and for renewable and BESS project developers on project commercialisation.
  • Strong project delivery and project management skills.
  • Experience in financial modelling is highly advantageous.
  • Strong quantitative skills and excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities are also highly regarded.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with diverse stakeholders, and strong interpersonal skills are essential.
