Senior Manufacturing Technician

We are seeking a skilled Senior Manufacturing Technician to join our team in a state-of-the-art workshop. This role will involve working collaboratively with a established team of technicians to manufacture, repair and maintain artificial limbs, carbon fibre and silicone orthotic devices and myoelectric prostheses.

You will play a key part in the manufacturing process, using hand tools, power tools, autoclaves and industrial ovens, CNC routers, 3D printers, pre-preg carbon fibre, wet carbon fibre lamination, thermoplastic, ultrasonic welding machines and other machinery on a daily basis.

The materials used in this role include carbon fibre, silicone, plastic, plaster, various metals, epoxy resins and foams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the silicone manufacturing department
  • Design, order, manufacture and fit myoelectric prosthetic devices to clients
  • Train clients in the use of myoelectric prosthetic devices
  • Communicate with clinical and technical staff on matters of design, logistics and best practice
  • Ensure jobs are manufactured to the highest standard of quality and in a timely and professional manner

Requirements:

  • A Diploma level or higher qualification in a relevant field, such as Orthotics, Prosthetics or Occupational therapy
  • A minimum five years' experience as a manufacturing technician in the same or a similar role
  • Previous documented experience of silicone and myoelectrics manufacturing
  • A current national criminal history check, or willingness to obtain
