Principal Planner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Planner to join our team on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will contribute to the company's business goals by providing professional planning and resource management advice in both statutory and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop project plans and strategies for the completion of major projects, including identification of business resource requirements.
  • Manage or assist with the preparation of strategies, reports, environmental impact assessments, and other planning documentation and submissions on behalf of clients.
  • Undertake technical and quality reviews of documentation prepared by the planning team to ensure that documentation and service levels meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients and identify new business opportunities.
  • Grow, develop, and mentor junior staff members.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or Architecture/Urban Design or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing.
  • Extensive experience in statutory or strategic planning, preferably within NSW.
  • Self-motivation and self-direction.
  • A strong interest in working on a broad variety of projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with the team, managers, and clients.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • The drive and passion to solve complex problems and produce innovative solutions.
