Immerse yourself in a fast-paced environment at IMC Financial Markets, where you will develop and apply advanced machine learning techniques to drive high-impact trading strategies.

As a Quantitative Research Analyst, you will work on developing predictive models using large-scale data analysis, collaborating with experienced researchers, traders, and engineers. Your contributions will directly inform our approach to high and mid-frequency delta-one trading strategies for equities and futures markets.

This 3-month internship provides the opportunity to transition into a permanent Quantitative Researcher position upon successful completion of your PhD. You will receive mentorship from a senior member of the team and have the autonomy to explore and innovate.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct hands-on research to design, develop, and apply original machine learning algorithms.
  • Develop and refine predictive models and trading strategies for robustness and scalability in the equities and futures markets.
  • Analyze large, complex datasets to uncover statistically significant patterns and market behavior insights.
  • Communicate research progress and outcomes effectively within the team and across departments.

Your ideal background includes a PhD (or nearing completion) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or related quantitative fields. You should have a deep understanding of machine learning, probability, and statistics, with practical experience in areas such as time series analysis, pattern recognition, portfolio optimisation, market impact modelling, and NLP.
