In this role, you will be advising corporate domestic and international clients, government clients, and regulators such as the ACCC. You will be involved in and gain exposure to potentially all aspects of competition law and regulation, including:

  • Merging Clearance: Advising domestic and international clients on competition issues arising in merger clearances and seeking clearance of domestic, cross-border and multi-jurisdictional transactions from the ACCC.
  • Regulatory Advice: Providing advice on all aspects of competition and consumer law to support their business success within the bounds of the law.
  • Litigation/Dispute Resolution: Competition and consumer law dispute resolution and litigation for corporate clients and the ACCC.
  • Investigations: Supporting commercial clients or the ACCC with investigations into anti-competitive conduct, cartels (including criminal cartels) and Australian Consumer Law contraventions
  • Technology and Innovation: Advising a range of technology clients on the application of regulatory frameworks in such areas as telecommunications, digital platforms, media law, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
  • Economic Regulation: Assisting clients with licensing, network access and price control in regulated industries, including ports, rail, airports, and shipping,

This position offers a competitive salary commensurate with relevant experience. In Australia, the estimated annual salary for a senior competition lawyer is around $250,000 AUD per annum, taking into account factors such as location, industry, and level of experience.
