
Mental Health Support Specialist

The position involves working in a challenging yet rewarding environment, providing mental health services to individuals and families. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care.
This role requires strong negotiation, verbal and written communication skills, as well as knowledge of NSW Mental Health Act and related legislation. The ideal candidate will have relevant tertiary qualifications, experience in assessment and management of people with acute mental health disorders, and computer competency.
Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for individuals presenting with acute mental health needs.
- Provide assertive outreach and acute care interventions.
- Support clients recently discharged from inpatient services.
- Respond to urgent care presentations with appropriate treatment options.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications as a Registered Nurse, including completion of a new graduate RN program or equivalent 12 months of RN experience, and current AHPRA registration.
- Experience in assessment and management of people with acute mental health disorders.
- Strong negotiation, verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act and related legislation.
