Business Development Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned professional to spearhead business growth in the Arboriculture industry. As a key member of our team, you will develop and execute winning bid strategies, foster strong client relationships, and negotiate business deals while maintaining market knowledge.

You will collaborate with our sales and communications departments to participate in business planning, tender success analysis, and the evolution of business improvement and tendering procedures.

Frequent liaison with operations will be necessary to ensure resource capacity is fully utilized, and you will assess and address technical and commercial risks as part of your winning bid strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement innovative bid strategies for all bids, driving the creation of unique value propositions to existing and new clients.
  • Lead the bid and tender process in conjunction with the Estimating Team.
  • Participate in business strategic planning, tender success analysis, and the evolution of business improvement and tendering procedures.
  • Design growth strategies and plans that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Identify and map business strengths and customer needs.
  • Research business opportunities and viable income streams.
  • Follow industry trends and identify potential areas where the company can make a competitive move.
  • Negotiate with stakeholders and close business deals.
  • Draft, submit, and review tenders and contracts.
  • Build relationships with existing clients to increase their current investment.
  • Provide feedback and advice to other company operations, such as marketing and sales departments.
  • Report on successes and areas needing improvements to the CEO and provide progress reports regarding the business development department's efforts.

Requirements:

  • Experience in business development, tender writing, or a relevant role in the Arboriculture/Environmental/Civil industry.
  • Proven track record in business development and client relationship management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with arboriculture industry regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to build rapport and foster collaborative relationships.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
