About the Role

McConnell Dowell Constructors is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer – Electrical to join our project team based on site in the western suburbs of Rockhampton heading towards the Gladstone region.

This role is ideal for individuals who are looking to work in a dynamic and innovative company that encourages people to think outside the box, influence change through great ideas and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will work on a 15:6 roster with site uplift applicable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage on-site electrical engineering functions through subordinates, which may include Project Engineers, Electrical Supervision, Sub-contractors and/or Cost/Planning support.
  • Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary.
  • Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, program workloads and provide technical and administrative guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved.
  • Ensure that project engineering completion is on time and within budget.
  • Record completed work, costs incurred, materials used and retain progress drawings.
  • Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards of supplier / subcontractor quotations / purchase orders as well as subcontractor arrangements.
About You
  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in electrical engineering, preferably in a construction environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in using electrical design software and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
