Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join our project team. As a Senior Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical projects, working closely with our team of Electrical Engineers, Electrical Estimators, and Project Managers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyse project specifications, drawings, and tender documentation to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates.
  • Conduct quantity takeoffs and develop material, labour, and equipment cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for bid preparation.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities in bids and provide recommendations to the management team.
  • Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed tender packages, including cost breakdowns, schedules, and other supporting documentation.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project scope and requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, material costs, and labour rates to maintain accurate estimating data.
  • Provide variations for existing projects.
  • Maintain knowledge of compliance factors, including standards and regulations.
  • Build lasting relationships with internal and external parties.
  • Utilise expertise to support the growth and success of the project team.
  • Weekly and monthly reporting to management.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and construction methods.
  • Proficient in estimating software and tools.
  • Knowledge of SimPRO and GroundPlan is a bonus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse project specifications, drawings, and other technical documents.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
